Is the PC software included with the Track3 unit?
Yes. The PC software and a mini-USB cable are included along with the units
How are servings sizes calculated?
Track3, CalorieSmart and CarbsControl offer the ability to specify serving sizes for food items. Most food items are specified in typical serving sizes (example: 3 oz for steaks). In addition, you can change the servings to be in grams, ounces, cup, tbsp, tsp, etc depending on the food item. When you change the serving size, the new nutritional values are calculated and shown. You can then save the food item as a favorite and the unit will remember the serving sizes that you specified.
How are exercise calories calculated?
The Track3, CalorieSmart, and CarbsControl units have a built-in database of exercises. When you specify the time spent on an exercise, the calories are calculated based upon your body weight. You can also create custom exercises or input the calories (say, from a treadmill readout) directly into the unit.
Do I need a computer to use Track3?
No. Track3 is a handheld device that works independent of the computer. However, if you do have a PC the device can be connected to the computer and data from the device can be downloaded on to your PC. Once the data is on your PC you can generate reports and email them to your health provider.
What kind of batteries are needed for Track3?
Track3 uses two standard AAA size batteries.
What is the difference between Track3 and CarbsControl?
CarbsControl, Track3, and CalorieSmart all have the same 50,000 food item database built-in. Track3 just has additional features to track glucose readings, insulin doses, and other medications that are specific to people with diabetes. The CarbsControl also lets you set and view goals with your total carbs for each meal (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner/Snack).
